Individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ need a counselor who is understanding and an advocate in the community. I have worked with individuals who are not only looking for a safe place to talk about sexual identity and discrimination but who also want to discuss feelings of depression and anxiety. Let's work together to help you understand how you can feel safe and proud of who you are. Contact me to see if we would be a good fit for counseling.
An individual experiencing anxiety may find it hard to explain how they feel both physically and emotionally. I understand the frustration this can create when talking to friends and family and not being heard or understood. If you decide to work with me, you can be assured you will not be judged and will be treated with dignity. Contact me for a free consultation.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is form of psychotherapy that treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. CBT focuses on solutions, encouraging clients to challenge distorted cognitions and change destructive patterns of behavior. CBT is helpful for many clients to change their outlook on life and future goals.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy or SFBT focuses on finding solutions in the present time and exploring an individual's hope for the future to find quicker resolution to their problems. This method takes the approach that you know what you need to do to improve your own life and, with the appropriate counseling and questioning, you are capable of finding the best solutions for your future.
Existential Therapy focuses on free will, self-determination, and the search for meaning. This approach often centers on you rather than on the symptom you are experiencing. The approach emphasizes your capacity to make rational choices and to develop to your maximum potential.

Instead of reacting to internal thoughts and ideas clients learn to accept what is going on in life and accept what is happening and accept what is.
Mindfulness-based therapy (MBT) helps clients get away from reacting and thinking about life events in a different way. MBT Instead of automatically reacting to life's challenges, clients learn to accept and observe what is happening in life.
