About My Clients

I help folks learn how to feel safe in their own bodies by tapping into their own inner resources. You learn how to feel your feelings without becoming overwhelmed, ashamed, or numb. We work to uncover the ways in which old beliefs and narratives keep you stuck. We explore your needs and wants, and what you stand for, and help you develop a healthy sense of self and hold on to that self in the face of social expectations and social pressure.

My Background and Approach

My work is grounded in polyvagal theory which describes the role of the autonomic nervous system in our moment-to-moment, day-to-day physical, emotional, and mental health. I take a trauma-responsive relational approach. I prioritize safety to help you learn to feel safe in your own body and in relationships. We explore your symptoms as outcomes of experiences that created patterns in your life, behavior, relationships, and how you see yourself. We work together to become aware of these patterns so you’re not dominated by them anymore. I hold a master's degree in clinical social work and am a licensed clinical social worker in both Ohio and Indiana. My 13 years of multiracial and multiethnic clinical experiences have been focused on trauma and its impact on children, adults, families, and workplaces. I have also with immigrant families around the complexities and trauma of global displacement and resettlement.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have found some commonalities in my work. Nearly all of my clients are dealing with some form of unexamined, inherited burden that shows up as energies, emotions, and beliefs. These legacies contribute to long-lasting relational challenges between adult children and their parents that can be passed along to the next generations. The result is layers of constriction that contribute to symptoms of depression, anxiety, addiction, dysregulation, medical issues, and family conflict. I work from the premise that we all have inner resources that support our healing and growth. Our work is to uncover and reconnect you to those resources. It is my honor to be a witness to your healing journey to develop a healthy sense of self.
