About My Clients
I have worked in a wide variety of settings; addiction and recovery centers, community counseling, and now in the private practice setting. My passion is to help others empower themselves, and to see that they have the capability to change the way they think and feel. I believe we are all writing our own stories in the narratives that we tell ourselves. Let us write the best story possible so that we may live happy and healthy lives.
My Background and Approach
I have my bachelors degree in Studio Art and Psychology and continued on to pursue my Masters in Art Therapy, from Florida State University. I then worked in an opiate recovery center for multiple years where I ran around 5 art therapy groups daily. Once I was able to have my two years experience post grad, I studied for my license. I received my License for Mental Health Counseling in 2017. I recently ended a 3 year relationship with a community counseling center that I was working for. I was seeing a multitude of clients who would come in for anxiety, depression, PTSD, postpartum, relationship issues, negative self image/ self worth, childhood traumas, bipolar, and women's issues. My newest position is working for Sunshine City Counseling in a private practice setting for just over a year now. My approach is client centered, meaning I will assess the clients needs and meet them where they are. I take an active role with my clients and enjoy the relationships that are created.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that I have the power to create meaning and positive relationships in my life. I am a new mother of a little boy and this has taught me more patience and understanding. I believe in kindness and the power of gratitude, listening, and encouragement. I grew up in Key West, FL and feel so fortunate to have come from such an eclectic and openminded community. I feel that I am inclusive of everyone and anyone.
