About My Clients
Are you looking to improve your emotional experience or going through a life transition? Do you feel over whelmed or anxious because you are stagnant and not gaining the results in life you desire? Perhaps you feel you are banging your head against the wall trying to recover, set boundaries or get through a dramatic change or transition in your life? I get it, overcoming the hurdles life throws at you can be challenging, I look forward to working together to find clarity and facilitate change!
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed mental health counselor and have over 8 years of experience with working with individuals and families. I specialized in working with individuals with dual diagnosis and have spent the past 5 years focusing on how to help people navigate difficult life transitions. Whether it be recovery, building healthy boundaries and relationships, managing depression and anxiety or adjusting to life change. Therapy will begin with the assessment phase where I will ask questions to get to know more about yourself. I will use this info to understand how your personality formed and patterns in your life. We will then work together to find out what goals you want to accomplish and the best way to succeed in obtaining them. We'll talk about how to overcome challenges in transitions or any change you want to make for yourself. Our talks can be vulnerable and emotional I may add humor and metaphors to lighten things up a bit. I tend to tailor my style to fit you and speak your language.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a firm believer that the mind, body and spirit are connected and when one is "out of whack" then so are the others. I believe in fueling yourself with what you want in return. Balance is also a theme in my belief system. I believe everyone should have access to affordable and quality mental healthcare. And that is why I save 20% of my sessions for clients that can only pay $50 per session. I support organizations that fight against mental health stigma and access issues across all genders, ethnicities and sexual orientations. While I can not claim to be an expert on racial and systemic oppression, I can promise you that I study the issue on a regular basis and challenge myself to overcome intrinsic biases. I work with my clients from a non judgmental space and encourage and support them on their journey. I practice yoga and enjoy nature.
