My Background and Approach
I have a BSW, MSW, CSW, & am a practicing licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 9 years of clinical experience in the field. I'm a solution-focused therapist, meaning, at the end of each session, I want you leaving with new tools in your toolbox & homework to continue your growth. I have vast experience in CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), Strengths-based perspective, & Motivational Interviewing. My space will always be compassionate, empathetic, patient, identity-affirming, & a safe space to challenge stuck patterns, behaviors, & ways of thinking. I'm honored to hold sacred space for all beliefs, genders, sexualities, identities, cultures, races, people groups, and walks of life. If you're ready to do the work & see real change in your life, this space is for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that your brain isn't broken, it's simply trying to protect you. And with practice, we can teach it that you are a safe advocate for its needs. I believe that you matter, you are important, and your story is sacred. I believe that therapists should go to therapy so they know what they're asking of their clients. I believe that therapy should leave you with hope, tools, and fresh knowledge. I believe that everyone has the capacity to be creative & that by giving yourself permission to be imperfectly creative, you're giving your fight-or-flight brain permission to rest. I believe that the therapy space needs to be safe for all so that we can have uncomfortable conversations that heal & challenge you. And I believe that no matter who you are, you belong here. I am absolutely an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.
