About My Clients
I specialize in treating complex trauma (also known as interpersonal trauma) in both individual and couples. I also enjoy working with high functioning neurodiverse folks. I work best with introspective, self aware people ready to build more compassionate relationships with themselves and/or with their partners. Clients come to me to reduce shame; get in touch with emotions, values, and voice; decrease anxiety and depression; and transform patterns that have roots in trauma.
My Background and Approach
I believe in everyone's innate power to evolve and heal. My role as a therapist is either to create a safe haven and "secure base" relationship for my individual clients or to serve as a facilitator to help couples strengthen their security with one another. I received my master's degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark College. There, I completed coursework in the sex therapy track. My master's degree education was deeply focused in social justice education and intersectional reflection and consciousness. My therapy practice is an act of activism, and I work best with clients who are able to engage on the level of insectional identity and intergenerational trauma. I use mindfulness, attachment theory, humanism, some IFS/parts work, emotionally focused therapy, somatic experiencing, interpersonal neurobiology, and psychodynamic theory in my work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My work is highly trauma-informed, anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, trans allied, HAES and body trust informed, and kink & sex positive.
