About My Clients

My Background and Approach
I have been working with adults and adolescents for four years in a variety of settings such as private practice, psychiatric hospitals, and community mental health agencies. I have an eclectic theoretical approach to meet the needs of my clients, however my primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe when people are cognizant of how their thoughts influence their feelings and behavior, they will be able to make the necessary changes in their thoughts to resolve problems. My biggest strengths are helping clients see life through a different lens and helping clients discover themselves in new ways. It is difficult to see different viewpoints when you are in the middle of a situation. Sometimes a fresh perspective or view can change the way you think and feel about a situation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. I enjoy educating others about taking care of themselves and creating a better way of living. My goal is to provide the African American community quality mental health services and education. . In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, playing video games, spending time with her family and friends, and trying new things.
