Hi! My name is Chau. I’m a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women's Mental Health, Yale Asst Clinical Professor, and Mom of 2.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in San Francisco, CA

About My Clients

Are you barely holding it together after having a baby—exhausted, anxious, and wondering if this is what motherhood is supposed to feel like? Maybe you’re gearing up to return to work, but just the thought of leaving your baby fills you with dread, guilt, or panic. You’re not alone. So many women struggle in silence with the overwhelm, the intrusive thoughts, the irritability, or the sadness that doesn’t quite go away.

My Background and Approach

I understand what it feels like to question whether you're doing enough—or if you're enough at all. The sleepless nights, the identity shifts, the pressure to “bounce back” while your mind is screaming for rest and care. Whether you’re dealing with postpartum anxiety, depression, or both, I offer a safe and compassionate space to help you process what you’re feeling and start to feel more like you again. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in women’s mental health, I take a holistic and integrative approach medication management. If you've tried therapy and still experiencing feelings of overwhelm and anxiety, please reach out to me. If you're considering medication, but unsure about the process—or worried about how it might affect breastfeeding or daily functioning—we’ll walk through those concerns together, thoughtfully and at your pace. I integrate holistic tools to support your healing from all angles.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a psych NP, I bring a unique perspective to my practice, shaped by both my professional expertise and personal experiences. As a mother of an infant and toddler, I understand the incredible joys and challenges that come with raising a family. Having experienced postpartum depression/anxiety myself, I recognize the complexities of balancing multiple roles and the impact it can have on your mental health. I believe there are many paths to healing and recovery and that medication can be just one part of the equation. I incorporate evidence-based practices such as supportive therapy, vitamins and supplements, sleep interventions, physical activity, mindfulness approaches, and more. Above all, I believe that every person has the right to compassionate, non-judgmental care that is tailored to their individual needs.
