About My Clients
My focus is depression, anxiety, major life transitions, sex positivity, and more. I understand that the weight of our past, present, and future can sometimes feel beyond what we can carry. All of which may feel like helplessness and darkness. But would you believe me if I told you that you are the light? You are the beacon of hope. Subconsciously, you have realized that by taking this step toward your mental health and well-being. Still, have your doubts? Let's chat.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master’s in Psychology degree in Couples & Family Therapy with a specialty in Sex Therapy from Antioch University Seattle. My previous course work included Psychopathology, Couples and Individual Therapy, Diversity in Sexual Expressions and Systemic Perspectives. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Children’s Studies as well as a Bachelor of Social Science in Women & Gender’s Studies from Eastern Washington University. Both focus on the social justice and advocacy of vulnerable populations. I also have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Racial and Cultural Trauma, and Perinatal and Postpartum Care as well as Gender Affirming Mental Health Care. I see the world through a Humanistic lens with an approach that meets the needs of each individual client best. I use psychotherapy, CBT, Narrative, and strength-based therapy to help clients develop coping skills, new thought patterns, and behaviors while modeling appropriate behaviors for my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You are the light. It is in you. I believe that every client can navigate the challenges and changes life encompasses. My role is to assist you in reaching goals you may have for yourself within a therapeutic setting. But this starts with you. You are the expert in your life. I strive to empower your strengths individually and relationally while providing encouragement, support, and acceptance of your personal growth and development throughout your journey. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental, and open atmosphere for teens (16+) and adults of all backgrounds to be their most authentic selves. I strongly believe in incorporating a multicultural experience into practice. It plays such an immense role in one’s overall development and navigation of the traumas many people of color and others of marginalized groups have become exposed to.
