About My Clients
I work with people who have experienced all kinds of trauma, and I specialize in working with caregiving professionals, including clergy, to identify the primary and secondary trauma experienced through their work. I also have significant experience in working with religious and spiritual trauma, intergenerational trauma, narcissistic abuse, and chronic, serious, or terminal illness.
My Background and Approach
I love to accompany people as they explore the impact of stress and trauma in their lives, and consider together how it is affecting them in mind, body, and spirit. We'll work together to define what flourishing looks like for you, and then start working towards that. This process of healing includes identifying the strengths and skills you already have and developing new ones. I'm trained in EMDR and other body-based approaches such as trauma sensitive yoga, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and polyvalgal theory, and find these to be excellent complements to traditional talk therapy. We'll tap into the things that give you meaning, hope, and joy in life, and work together toward a life you love.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
If you're not familiar with The Episcopal Church, it's important that you know that being a priest does not mean that I'm judgmental or hateful toward the LGBTQIA+ community, people of other races or nationalities, people of other faiths or no faith. Quite to the contrary. I support love in all its many manifestations, committed to the work of justice, and to the flourishing of all people. I am open and affirming, body-positive, sex-positive including poly and kink friendly, and neurodiversity affirming. I believe all people are deserving of love and flourishing.
