About My Clients
My ideal client is a child, adolescent, or young adult (neurotypical or neurodivergent, including autistic and trans youth) grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or family conflict. They seek a safe space to understand emotions, develop coping skills, and feel more regulated and connected. They want improved communication, stronger relationships, and more control. They should be comfortable with virtual therapy and are looking for a therapist who listens and provides practical tools.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois, with a Master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling. My career started with play-based therapy for Autistic children, and has since grown to support a wide range of neurodivergent and neurotypical young people in clinical settings. My approach is trauma-informed and focused on the whole person, with a strong emphasis on nervous system regulation and co-regulation. I often blend modalities like DBT and Narrative Therapy, and I deeply believe in the power of play as a tool for healing and connection. I aim to meet each client with compassion and respect, recognizing that they are the expert of their own experience. I often collaborate with families, using a family-systems lens and incorporating parent coaching to support lasting change. My areas of interest include neurodivergence, trans youth, trauma, anxiety, depression, and family conflict.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all have an incredible capacity for change and growth. Often, mental health challenges are just unhealthy ways of coping we've picked up. The great news is, you can unlearn those patterns and build new, healthy ones. My own therapy journey taught me this firsthand. I once struggled with severe anxiety, but I learned how to handle it so it no longer controls me. I want you to feel that same freedom. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, with a focus on nervous system regulation so you can feel more grounded. My work began with play-based therapy for Autistic children, and has expanded to a wide range of neurodivergent and neurotypical children, teens, and young adults. I blend DBT and Narrative Therapy, because I believe you are the expert of your own story. Play is a powerful tool for healing at any age.
