About My Clients
I think of my clients as not only survivors, but seekers: seekers of knowledge and truth about themselves, seekers of growth, and seekers of a grander life than they had ever dreamed possible. I have extensive experience working with trauma (including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse), depression, anxiety, grief, and stress/burnout. I also love helping clients move through life transitions such as break-ups, moving, or changing careers. You are uniquely powerful and I'm here to help.
My Background and Approach
I am a collaborative and active therapist who provides a balance of empathy and unconditional support while also gently pushing you to move towards growth and change. I customize my approach to each individual client - because there is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy. We will begin by exploring your past and family of origin to understand how early patterns and dynamics may be influencing your current experience. From there, we get creative with tools that will help you start to make positive and sustainable shifts. My goal is to provide you with tangible strategies that you can use daily. I want to work myself out of a job one day so that you can flourish independently! Specific theories that I incorporate include Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment theory, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic theory. With couples, I incorporate EFT and Gottman techniques.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to be inclusive and accepting of all human beings that walk this planet. I have volunteered with the Black Lives Matter movement and anti-racism is a cause that I care about deeply. I am also a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community. I believe that we are all connected and I do not take the privilege of being a healer lightly. I will always strive to create a safe space for my clients and those who are marginalized and oppressed in the world at large.
