About My Clients

You’re feeling stuck. Racing jumbled thoughts, worry, feeling out of control, inner critic on speed dial, and maybe even panic attacks are all starting to pile up. Or maybe you have self-doubt and a sense of hopelessness because things are not the way you want them to be even though you’ve tried everything you can think of to make things better, but it’s not working. Bottom line is, every now and then you need support from someone who has the knowledge and expertise to help you get unstuck.

My Background and Approach

I have an MA in Clinical & Counseling Psychology from Brandman University and a BA in Art from Humboldt State University. I am a National Board Certified Exceptional Needs Specialist, all ages, and a fully credentialed Learning Specialist with 20 years of experience working with children with mild to moderate learning disabilities. I am Autism Spectrum Disorder certified and a fully trained life coach. I have experience working with teens, adults, couples, and groups. My general theory base is client-focused and holistic, focussing on deep and lasting healing, skill building, self-knowledge, and growth. My strengths-based approach is founded in solution-focused, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Gottman Method for Couples and EMDR. I am a proud member of Sprout Therapy PDX in St. Johns, about a 20 minute walk from the University of Portland (3 minute drive).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space for all. I am LBGTQ+ friendly and sex worker friendly. If you are somewhere in between, I'll meet you there, too. I have marched for women's rights, social justice, and yes indeed you will see me at Pride. Two of my top core values I've had since as long as I can remember are to be of service and to help others. I would not have it any other way. I love what I do. I volunteer my services to veterans, and have veterans in my family who I am deeply fond of.

I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Atheism
  • Buddhism
