How you think about oneself is one's perception on how they feel about themselves. Our body is interconnected, depending on each other to make sure the system is working at "full capacity". When you have a thought, it elicits a feeling that one experiences and the way in which one expresses those feelings are the emotions being exhibited. CBT, is like that, helping us understand the role, impact and effect our cognitive functioning has on how we act and behave.

Growing up and struggling with ADHD as a child, I have learned to develop more patience, understanding and self-compassion towards individuals who struggle with certain executive functioning challenges they experience with ADHD. I work in helping empower the client formulate more insight and introspection into the challenges they experience with ADHD and to not define themselves by their diagnosis.

Living in the current health climate that we all have enduring, anxiety appears to be more prevalent than ever, but it doesn't have to be that way. Empowering individuals to promote more autonomy and agency over themselves, helps them to gain a better understanding and fosters more self-compassion towards their anxiety they experience. I have worked in the field of Intellectual/Developmental disabilities for over 10 years, and the experience working with these individuals is extremely rewarding and gratifying. I help with empowering, promoting and fostering the necessary skills the individual's are striving for that helps them with improving their self-worth and confidence within themselves. I will utilize a strength based approach in helping the individual(s) optimizing the skills they possess to be successful.
