Healthy relationships require regular maintainer and upkeep. Couples therapy is a great way to work through challenges and strengthen your relationship. The goal of couples therapy is to help couples thrive and improve the dynamics of the relationship to allow for open and honest communication, problem-solving, and discussing differences in a healthy way. Solution focused therapy and Prepare Enrich curriculum can help improve the dynamics of the relationship.
I have worked in inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment centers throughout my career. I also take a harm reduction approach to addictions as it relates to substance misuse. Often times chemical dependency is accompanied by other disorders such as anxiety and depression. We will work collaborattively to assess patterns and utilize psycho-education to differentiate between abuse and dependence to move you forward on your path to healing.
CBT focuses on challenging and reframing cognitive distortions and behaviors. This leads to improved behaviors and emotional regulation. I help clients reframe situations through the development of healthy and effective coping strategies that target solving current problems.
The connections we have with others can significantly affect our mental health. I help couples develop the skills and strategies needed to restore healthy connections. Additionally, I work with individuals that have experienced relational trauma gain insight into their relationship dynamics. Collaboratively we explore new ways to process feelings and explore strengthening interpersonal skills that may be negatively affecting their relationships.
