About My Clients
My niche clinical practice focuses on women's issues- particularly within the areas of loss and grief, physical and sexual trauma, and in maternal mental health. My expertise as a grief and trauma therapist services women who experience emotional and behavioral issues in response to miscarriage, infertility, postpartum depression, and other women’s issues that may involve mood disorders, anxiety and decreased relationship satisfaction.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed clinical social worker experienced in providing psychotherapy and grief counseling services for adults. I have experience in both the public and private sectors, including working as a grief counselor in a hospice agency, servicing individuals in a community-based intensive out-patient program, and practicing in two private practice groups. My educational background includes a masters' degree in clinical social work which included internship work in the fields of job coaching and hospice work. My credentials include independent licensure in clinical psychotherapy, certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, harm reduction, suicide prevention, and treatment for individuals diagnosed with severe and high-risk mental health challenges. My education, work experience, and credentials all contribute to a therapeutic approach that is rooted in person-centered care, and commitment to developing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship that facilitates client trust.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs are that everyone is entitled to live the life he/she/they choose, with whoever he/she/they choose, in the way he/she/they choose as long as they are not hurting anyone or infringing on the personal, social, and cultural rights of others. I also believe that all persons are entitled to respect, fair and equal treatment, and entitled to all their guaranteed human rights no matter their race, gender identification, or sexual orientation.
