About My Clients
Cognitive distortions, negative emotions and self defeating behaviors can get in the way of you realizing your full potential. You can be suffering from depression, anxiety, or trauma or challenged with adjusting to life's transitions. It is difficult to burden life stressors alone. My goal is help you identify your personal and emotional needs to formulate an intervention. I am dedicated to providing the highest quality of care as my focus is wellness, prevention and resilience.
My Background and Approach
I have years of experience working with adolescents and adults in areas including social services, community mental health, and hospitalizations. I have worked providing services to persistently mental ill patients and those who struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. I also have experience working with incarcerated individuals, the LGBTQ and non binary community, victims and survivors of domestic violence and the homeless. As a social worker my approach to therapy is holistic; to touch every facet of who you are. I also work from a framework of strength based, person centered and psychodynamic therapy. I am known for challenging my clients and holding them accountable- to push past what is comfortable, recognize existing possibilities and experience a paradigm shift.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people are the experts on their own lives- that humans already possess the tools needed to overcome life's most difficult challenges. They know whats best for them. Rules expectations, dysfunction and trauma cloud that judgment. My belief is that no matter where you are in life it is NEVER TOO LATE to want change! It is the small things that make the BIGGEST impact.
