About My Clients
Those who are new to therapy often appreciate my gentle approach to exploring identity and relationships. I believe therapy is most effective when there is a trusting and open therapeutic relationship, so we will work together to identify a meaningful approach to your care. Together, we'll address your presenting symptoms, as well as explore the underlying roots of these symptoms to establish long-term benefits.
My Background and Approach
My experience with diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds has shaped the integrative care I provide. The treatment I provide is influenced by relational, attachment-based, and psychodynamic modalities. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity concerns, trauma, and stress related to work and relationships. I'm experienced in working with culturally diverse and LGBTQ populations. Prior to earning my degree in counseling, I worked with LGBTQ youth and young adults in the Boston community at a nonprofit organization dedicated to health education.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am continually learning to work from liberation psychology, which aims to understand and support people of marginalized identities within the context of the oppressive systems in which we live. Although none of us alone can change these systems, we contribute to collective change when we can relate to others in healing and restorative ways. My hope is for your therapy to be a calming place of self-exploration that leads to a greater sense of how you relate to both your internal and external worlds.
