About My Clients
Do you ever feel that you have too much on your plate or that your emotions overwhelm you? It can feel like there is no way to escape these feelings, and that there is no way to change. It can be hard to go through these issues on your own, but therapy can be a space where these issues can be addressed. It can provide you the opportunity to explore who you are and make the changes that you want to see in your life.
My Background and Approach
I utilize multiple approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness, to help my clients make the changes that they want to see in their lives. When seeing clients, I ensure that their story is heard and that my interventions fit into my clients’ lifestyles and ideals. I believe in advocating for my clients and providing access to the resources that they may need. My goal as a therapist is to ensure that I show up in a way that benefits you and helps you achieve the goals set in sessions together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I view therapy as a space where you are the focus, so that we will be able to address your concerns in the way that is the most beneficial to you and works with your lifestyle. I will work with you to create and accomplish goals, and make changes. As a black therapist, who has to manage my own mental health concerns, I understand the difficulty of asking for help and feeling like you are being understood. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know how difficult it can be to feel comfortable to express yourself and process your identity.
