About My Clients
I have extensive training in managing depression, anxiety and ADHD, using the lowest effective dose for the least of amount of time needed. In addition to medication, I emphasize vegetables, going for walks and owning a pet (when possible). I have many years of experience working with trauma/post traumatic growth, eating disorders and addiction.
My Background and Approach
I answer all phone calls and emails personally in my independent private practice. My office is centrally located on Allen Parkway. I have immediate availability whether you are looking for medication management that works in coordination with your therapist, or if you’d like to do both psychotherapy and medication management with me. I offer flexible hours with both in-person and virtual appointments. Finding a psychiatrist, who is a medical doctor (MD) who doesn't make you feel rushed and really listens to you can be hard to find, because they are all booked up! I am new to private practice, and still have availability. I attended Texas A&M for undergrad, UTMB for medical school and served as Chief Psychiatry Resident at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City. I then returned to UTMB as Faculty, where I taught the Neuroscience & Human Behavior course to first year medical students, earning several teaching awards.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I volunteer with RedRover, an organization that focuses on bringing animals and their people from crisis to care. The animal-human bond is healing because pets provide unconditional love and genuine warmth.
