About My Clients
I love working with clients of all ages! The children I work with tend to struggle with emotion regulation. This can present as tantrums, aggression, depression, anxiety, and negative self-talk. The teenage clients I work with often present with low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and self-harm. Adult clients in my practice have experienced childhood trauma. They are aware of the impact this has on their current life and are willing to connect with their wounded child parts.
My Background and Approach
I came to the world of therapy through my personal struggles with mental health. I tried many approaches with little success until I started working with practitioners who were trained in body-centered modalities. I learned how to heal through experiencing my body fully. This led me to obtain an MA in Somatic Counseling from Naropa University. From there I have been using Internal Family Systems therapy and Play Therapy to help children, teens, and adults. My therapeutic style is warm, authentic, and empathic. I bring my full self into the therapeutic relationship, flaws and all. I do not claim to have the wisdom to heal others. I believe that every individual has the internal wisdom to heal their own wounds. I am constantly in awe of the brilliance I encounter in each of my clients. I feel passionately that my role as a therapist is not to fix or advise, but to help clear away whatever is getting in the way of my client's capacity to be their own advisor.
