About My Clients
I'm Chad Mohammad, LISW, seeing teens and adults in Cedar Falls and by telehealth across Iowa. I do therapy the way I talk: casual, direct, no performance. Queer and trans clients are the heart of my practice, alongside ADHD, autism, trauma, identity, and burnout. My favorite first sessions are people who almost gave up on therapy. I write gender-affirming letters in the first session at no cost.
My Background and Approach
former labor organizer who came to therapy through community work. MSW from USC in 2021, LISW in Iowa, and I've run my own practice in Cedar Falls since 2023. My approach is conversational and direct. I work from liberation psychology, harm reduction, polyvagal-informed assessment, and narrative identity work. Sessions feel like real conversations; because they are. My approach to therapy is more about two people coming together and figuring things out until we find something that actually works. I believe in making sure we build momentum and practicing liberation focused strategies as we march into the chaos of 2026 and beyond.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I just want people to have the freedom to be alive, and have the power to give themselves permission to do whatever it is they want to do.
