About My Clients
My clientele include individuals of all ages and backgrounds. I have experience with clients from ages 6 & up, those of all gender identities, and neurodiverse individuals. I’m passionate about acknowledging the unique experiences of individuals and strive to make individuals of all gender identities, sexualities, cultures, disabilities, and backgrounds, feel heard, validated, and accepted. I can ensure you that each client is provided a safe & supportive space to be their most authentic self.
My Background and Approach
Sessions with young children may comprise of play therapy and creative arts including drawing, acting, singing, and more! Playing games and engaging in your child’s interests promotes active communication and self confidence. Sessions for teens and young adults may still include creative art and play therapy, but may additionally include techniques from Gestalt Therapy, CBT, and more! I include techniques from numerous counseling modalities in my sessions because I believe that therapy is not a “one size fits all” experience. I tailor the techniques I use in session to each individual client’s needs. I welcome open communication between my clients and am always willing to listen to their ideas and thoughts regarding their treatment plans.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am outgoing, compassionate, ambitious, and creative, and enjoy to bring my personality forward during sessions. I value building strong therapeutic relationships with clients, gaining trust and providing reassurance and guidance to life's many obstacles. I am a proud multi-ethnic woman, LGBTQ+ ally, and an strong advocate for those with chronic illness/disabilities. I believe the mental health of minority groups (including women, POC, LGBTQ+ individuals, and chronically ill or disabled folks) is poorly understood and misrepresented in society. I strive to provide a space where everyone can feel welcomed, appreciated, and valued. Growing up, I saw a lot of errors within the understanding of mental health in society and wanted to implement change. A fun fact about me is that prior to my mental health education, I had 8 years of performing arts experience. I am a creative individual who also has a mental health podcast on Spotify called The Pick Me Up.
