My approach is mindfulness based, strengths based and person-centered. I believe in meeting people where they are at. I truly enjoy helping people grow and adjust to life changes, cope with and reduce stress and improve their overall well-being.
My Background and Approach
I have previously worked in community mental health for over five years and I am experienced working with diverse populations and challenges. I take a holistic approach to my work and focus not just on the mind but also the body. I take a mindfulness based approach, utilizing interventions primarily from acceptance and commitment therapy and solution focused therapy. In addition to being a LICSW, I am also a 200 hour registered yoga teacher. If desired, I can incorporate aspects of yoga into therapy including breath work, mindfulness/meditation and yoga postures that can be supportive. I am also a geriatric mental health specialist and enjoy working with older adults.
