About My Clients
Have you ever been curious about how to express yourself creatively and without having to rely too much on words alone? Say it in art! Having access to art materials is important to fostering connection between your internal and external world, and I am here to facilitate that :) No art experience required!
My Background and Approach
I attended Phillips Graduate Institute in 2016 for their dual licensing program in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy. I received my MA in Psychology in 2018 while gaining experience as a child therapist in elementary school settings. From there I moved on to work at a trauma-informed agency until the pandemic when everything shifted to online work. In 2022 after I passed my licensing exam, I began work for the company I'm still with called Guiding Strength Therapy. I also co-founded my own Art Therapy business called Healing Hues Art Therapy. I integrate various modalities into my practice, including CBT, psychodynamic, narrative, and trauma-informed approaches. This means I can help you look at what you bring into session from a number of viewpoints and guide you in finding your way. Plus you get to have a portfolio of your own art pieces to help you access your healing on a deeper level.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone should have access to art materials and some encouragement to express themselves on a creative level. I believe in having and maintaining awareness of the wide-ranging issues of culture, gender, generational, and neurodiversity in my clinical approach.
