About My Clients
I work with a range of concerns and populations, holding a special interest in working with artists and creatives, “third-culture” folx, identity exploration and development, trauma, the LGBTQ+ community, adult children of immigrants, multicultural relationships, and relational conflict.
My Background and Approach
Prior to pursuing a career in mental health, I spent a decade working as a performing artist across multiple mediums and various cities, making me uniquely suited to walk alongside those pursuing a creative life. Additionally, I grew up in a bilingual household with Latine immigrant, providing a well of authentic empathy and foundational lived experience in many of my areas of interest. My therapeutic style integrates an empowering and holistic approach and incorporates behavioral techniques as needed. My framework is rooted in Relational-Cultural Theory, centering the therapeutic relationship, the impact of healthy relationships on growth, and the role of culture, power dynamics, and societal factors on mental health. I'm also influenced by IFS, ACT, and Psychodynamic Theory. My manner is collaborative, warm, direct, and honest, led by curiosity, compassion, and humor. I strive to provide a soft place for you to process, reflect, question, and heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I personally believe we all have the capacity to grow and heal, and that you are the expert in your own life. We are relational creatures, and we heal in relationship. I got into this work because I remember what it was like to feel helpless and hurt, and often think about the therapists that have helped me along my growing path. Though healing is not linear and growth is infinite, I can see the groundwork these relationships laid for the person I am today and the path that continues before me. My intention is to do this for others; to walk alongside you on the journey to healing and self-discovery, affirming and challenging you along the way. Growth happens in connection- let's connect.
