About My Clients

I assist BIPOC LGBTQ+ adults to overcome anxiety, depression, shame, body image, grief, and trauma, among other challenges. While using various therapeutic techniques, I especially draw from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy to meet your unique needs and goals. Together, we will explore how your past, present, and environment impact your mental health. I have experience working with BIPOC folx, intersectional identities, people from diverse sexual and gender experiences.

My Background and Approach

I recieved my Masters in Mental Health Counseling with specilization in Survior Counseling Services from John Jay College in New York City, where I have lived for most of my life. I was privileged to work with diverse populations, including children in the care system, elderly living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, and LGBTQ+ youth. Knowing that I can be that advocate and great supporter for other people, and especially BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folx, fills me with joy and purpose. I proudly incorporate different therapeutic styles depending on your unique needs. Specifically, I find that mindfulness-based cognitive therapy helps you become better aware of both conscious and unconscious parts of yourself that impact your mental health. This means that we will explore how your past, environment and current life shape your mental health challenges. Most importantly, I am committed to co-creating a safe space where you can feel comfortable and brave discussing your needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a bisexual, cis, able-bodied, mentally able, Hispanic woman who has lived in Queens, for most of my life. I was raised in a Colombian and Trinidadian household by my mother, grandmother, and step father. My grandmother was a very big part of my life teaching me so many things including Spanish, Colombian traditions, how to cook maduros and all the drama from telenovelas. I spend most of my free time baking fun desserts and hanging out with my rescued cat and puppy. I would love the opportunity to assist you on your mental health journey and help guide you towards your goals. If you want to learn more about me and what I may offer you, please reach out.
