About My Clients
Adult survivors of childhood trauma face unique challenges. The very same strategies that helped you cope as a child can cause suffering in your life now. Common challenges include relationship problems, self-sabotage, anxiety, depression, and shame. You may feel like there is something wrong with you, rotten at your core. But you are not bad or broken. Together, we will create safety. We will heal what is hurt and give space to what yearns to be expressed.
My Background and Approach
Reaching out to a therapist can feel overwhelming and incredibly vulnerable - I’ve been there too. I remember the anxiety and self-doubt in asking for help. I also remember the therapist who helped me through some of the most difficult seasons of my life. Much of my work is grounded in attachment theory and exploring how childhood experiences impact the way we connect and form relationships in adulthood. I use an attachment-based perspective in combination with EMDR and DBT techniques. We will collaborate and together determine what is working well for you and what can be improved in order to live a life of well-being, purpose, and balance. We will work towards decreasing your symptoms while also addressing and healing the root of your suffering. You don’t have to do it alone, I would be honored and humbled to join you. We will start where you are and together figure out the next steps on your journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Healing happens through relationships. When we can share all parts of ourselves with another and be truly seen. Witnessed. Understood. The messy, the dark, the confusing and the seemingly unlovable. All parts of you are welcome here. I believe every person has the capacity for growth, change, and healing. My intentions are to understand your experience, honor your journey, and create a safe space for healing and growth.
