About My Clients
I am an Asian-American therapist seeking to create a healing and culturally affirming environment for Children, Teens, and Young Adults. Life as a POC can be confusing to navigate as we can have traditions, values, and obligations that oppose our American cultural upbringing. This therapeutic space will be a safe container for those looking to explore their identity, purpose, and authenticity.
My Background and Approach
My therapy approach is focused on the importance of nurturing feelings of belonging in the person within the context of their identified community. Being vulnerable is scary with our work together you can gain enough knowledge and insight about yourself so that you can make the decisions and life choices that feel the best for you. I will act as supportive role in your life and encourage you to lead the way. My goal is to support you in navigating strategies that will begin your process of inner healing and deepen the connection to your whole self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a bicultural first-generation Vietnamese-American psychotherapist, I know that balancing two cultural identities can feel weighted and exhausting. For children of refugees and immigrants, addressing emotional needs may not have been modeled in a way that felt safe, nurturing, validated, or regulating. These needs and the accompanying complexities could have not been recognized or acknowledged in a way where you were validated or soothed. In this My approach is to use traditional psychotherapy, a respectful culturally curious lens, and holistic strategies to help guide you to your inner healing. Some psychotherapy modalities that I incorporate are CBT, Narrative, Adlerian Therapy, and much more.
