About My Clients
I can help you rediscover forgotten aspirations, work through challenging emotions and/or relationships, reframe your fears and obstacles, and find more joy and contentment in your life. If you’re interested in opening up to a world of new possibilities, I am here to help.
My Background and Approach
I obtained my Masters degree in Counseling from Portland State University. I have additional, long-term training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals, Internal Family Systems, and the Gottman Method. I have been able to help many individuals, families, and couples create healthier, more satisfying relationships with themselves and others. It is a profound experience to witness the ways in which people are able to overcome their struggles and empower themselves. It brings me great satisfaction to be able to help others make permanent positive changes in their lives and in their relationships. I grow and learn from each of my clients and have the utmost respect and admiration for their courage and commitment to heal. I also have a PhD in Biology and taught science at the university level for 10 years. I’ve discovered that my knowledge of both psychology and biology provides me with unique and powerful tools as a counselor.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to helping others. A percentage of each counseling session is donated to assist the less fortunate, to protect those without a voice (with a strong emphasis on helping animals) and to help preserve natural habitats.
