About My Clients

I offer a range of comprehensive mental health services for teens and young adults in Maryland. I specialize in treating emotional, behavioral, mood, trauma, and identity-related concerns through empowering and encouraging growth within my clients. As a former athlete and two-time NCAA national champion, I also specialize in working with athletes. I understand the unique stressors and experiences of being an athlete and am committed to reducing the stigma surrounding athlete mental health.

My Background and Approach

My clients can expect a collaborative approach where their goals and concerns guide the therapy process. I strive to empower clients with practical tools and strategies to manage challenges and enhance their overall well-being. My journey to being a therapist started when I worked with my own therapist as a teenager. My therapist changed my life and I wanted to give back to others in the same way. After getting my degree in psychology from Shippensburg University, I worked in a HeadStart classroom on a military base. While in the classroom, I realized how much I loved connecting with the kids one on one and saw a huge need for mental health support within the school building. While completing my Master's at John's Hopkins, I started seeing clients as a therapist in school-based settings. While in the schools, I got to see my clients in their social environment and got experience in supporting children and teens with self-esteem, trauma, anxiety, and mood concerns.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everybody has the ability to grow and make changes in their lives. I also believe that everybody deserves to feel heard and valued and the it is a privilege to hold this space for my clients. I love working with tweens, teens, and young adults and providing them a space to openly discuss their thoughts and feelings. I value my therapeutic relationship with my clients and enjoy being able to connect and explore interests, which may even include music, video games, or pop culture! I also love working athletes after seeing their need for support and how focusing on mental health can improve performance in my own experiences as an athlete. Dogs are my favorite animal and you will likely see my hound mix, Ruby, in sessions with me. :)
