About My Clients
I primarily work with individual adult women and adolescent girls from all walks of life who find themselves feeling broken, lost, lonely, stuck, or out of balance. Some areas of clinical focus include: anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, sexual abuse, grief/loss, identity issues, and relational distress. I believe in empowering clients to be the best they can be and to live healthy, meaningful, and whole lives through connection with their true self and others.
My Background and Approach
I am especially interested in the mind-body-spirit connection and use an evidence-based, integrative approach that includes Internal Family Systems (IFS or “parts work”), EMDR, and Narrative Therapy to guide clients to more holistic healing and transformation. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy level I, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) levels I and II, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Mental Health First Aid, Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY), Play Therapy, and Expressive Arts. I hold my temporary license and am pursuing my full license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Tennessee. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Hispanic Studies from Pepperdine University and my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in child-centered play therapy from Lipscomb University.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I know that it’s easy to lose connection with the natural rhythm of life- I've been there. Because of trauma, painful experiences, or negative messages that make us question our value, we lose access to the innate resources we have available to us and feel like we’ve gotten off course. My desire is to partner with you to acknowledge and embrace the parts of yourself that feel burdened by the stressors of life, feel stuck and burnt out in their roles, and feel at odds with each other. I have found that my clients experience greater connection, healing, restoration, and fulfillment when their parts can come together in a harmonious rhythm, and I would feel honored to find that rhythm with you.
