About My Clients
My clients are adults navigating the messy, complicated parts of life — anxiety, low mood, relationship dynamics that feel stuck, boundaries that are hard to set and harder to keep, and transitions like job changes, divorce, or loss. Some come in with longstanding patterns rooted in their past. Others are dealing with something that just happened. Most are somewhere in between and ready to try something different.
My Background and Approach
Maybe you've been thinking about therapy for a while, or maybe something recently shifted and you're ready. Either way, that's exactly where we start. I'm Cate, a licensed clinical social worker with 10+ years of experience working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and the patterns that keep showing up no matter how hard you try to outrun them. I'm trained in EMDR, Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, and incorporate CBT interventions where they fit — all from a trauma-informed lens. People tell me talking to me feels like a trusted friend who also knows what they're doing. Warm, honest, and occasionally funny. In-person in Danville, PA and telehealth throughout Pennsylvania. Free 15-minute consultation to start.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should feel like a safe place to be honest, messy, and real — not a place to perform wellness or have the right answers. My work is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Together we unpack what's getting in the way, build on what's already working, and develop new skills where they're needed. Therapy works best when it's built on trust, honesty, and a genuine belief that change is possible. I show up to every session curious, nonjudgmental, and fully in your corner. You don't have to have it figured out before you walk in. You just have to be willing to start.
