About My Clients
I chose to be a therapist because of my personal experience with loss and my deep belief that we need community and a witness in this season of life. I partner with individuals in every stage of their journey to and through motherhood. That could look like family planning, infertility, IVF/ IUI, adoption, childlessness, pregnancy and/or postpartum. I also connect with mothers who have experinced loss (ie miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, termination for medical reasons, abortion, etc).
My Background and Approach
My journey to becoming a therapist started in 2015 when I was participating in a group therapy session after the loss of our first baby. I remember the distinct thought, “I want to do this for other people someday.” In less than 6 months, I was in the graduate program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University. I have a BS in Applied Psychology from Regis University and have worked in various helping capacities throughout my career. During my time at Regis, I received specialized training in grief and bereavement and completed my internship at Agape Hospice. Before private practice I worked in hospice, community mental health, in group practice and nonprofits. I have worked with individuals, couples, teens, and adults aged 18-99. I am credentialed as a Perinatal Mental Health Counselor (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International and a Birth and Bereavement Doula through Stillbirthday.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a proud advocate for womens health and the rights to make decisions for our own bodies. This has a massive impact on family planning in our politically tumultous country. I run a free support group for families who have chosen to terminate a wanted pregnancy for medical reasons. In this context, I have connected with families all over the country and supported them in navigating the political, moral and religious landscape of this loss.
