About My Clients
Many of the women I work with are thoughtful, capable moms who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stretched thin by the demands of motherhood. Some are navigating postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, or intrusive thoughts after having a baby. Others are mothers who feel burned out, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in cycles of guilt and self-doubt. You might look like you have it together on the outside while privately feeling anxious, reactive, or unsure how to cope with the mental load
My Background and Approach
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist and the founder of Dr. Cassidy & Co., a therapy practice serving women and couples in California, New York, and Nevada. My work focuses on maternal mental health, including postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and the emotional transition into motherhood. I also support moms who are navigating parenting stress, relationship challenges, perfectionism, and the pressure to hold everything together. My approach integrates evidence-based therapy with a warm, relational style. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, CBT, Internal Family Systems and nervous system education to help clients understand why they react the way they do and develop more compassion toward themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that motherhood is both deeply meaningful and incredibly demanding, and that many women are carrying far more than they were ever meant to carry alone. I’m passionate about maternal mental health and the need for better education, support, and conversation around postpartum depression, anxiety, and the emotional realities of parenting. Outside of therapy, I’m a mom of three and the host of the Holding Space podcast and author of the book Mom Needs a Moment, where I talk openly about relationships, parenting, nervous system regulation, and the emotional work of being a cycle breaker. I'm also a contributor to Dr. Becky's Good Inside community. My hope is that therapy can be a place where you don’t have to perform, hold it all together, or pretend you’re fine. Instead, it can be a place to slow down, understand yourself more deeply, and find your way back to connection with yourself and the people you love.
