About My Clients
As a first generation immigrant from Guyana, this has influenced my interest in providing counseling to individuals from backgrounds where mental health is largely overlooked and/or misunderstood. I welcome all individuals to have a safe space to express their feelings and work through any difficulties they are experiencing in life.
My Background and Approach
I have a background in individual therapy and working with children. I will receive my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Long Island University, and received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Baruch College. My therapeutic career began at Elmhurst Hospital in the Child and Adolescent inpatient unit, where I worked with children and adolescents suffering from psychological disabilities. My main role is to assist individuals process emotions and provide insight to these feelings. Together, we can work together to process these thoughts and feelings as well as find coping mechanisms to overcome these feelings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Dealing with these thoughts and emotions can be very draining on a human being. Therapy can help you in order to get out of this dreaded repeated cycle. Together we can work towards allowing you to gain clarity and insight as to progress in your life.
