About My Clients
I frequently work with populations who have experienced trauma histories, as well as those people who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, life changes, and daily adjustments. At this time, all clients have been experiencing the persistent trauma of COVID-19 for two years, which often is addressed throughout sessions as well. Clients often benefit from support around setting boundaries and working through relationship challenges with people in their lives.
My Background and Approach
Throughout the intake process, we will identify your reasons for coming to therapy and the goals you want to work on together in therapy. I enjoy working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. I have a history of working with clients experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, and parenting challenges. I often work with clients on setting boundaries and navigating relationships, whether they be romantic, familial, friendships, or work-based. Throughout the work, we will explore techniques from modalities that include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness. Occasionally, depending on the needs and goals, homework may be assigned, which often involves practicing a specific mindfulness technique or coping skill.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My core values stem from the belief that everyone has intrinsic value and deserves to live life as they would like to. Though external factors, systemic biases, and barriers can impede this, people should all be able to receive support to make progress toward their own goals. I believe that addressing systemic racism and bias is a necessary part of therapy and engaging in social location work between the therapist and client allows for the work to begin in the room (whether that be a virtual or physical space).
