About My Clients
You may be dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, self-criticism, dissociation, or a difficult transition. Maybe you understand why you feel the way you do, but insight hasn't been enough to help you change. I work especially well with people who are curious, creative, and willing to try something different, even when it feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar. I welcome LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients and work with young adults and adults.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in mental healthcare for eight years, including three years providing counseling. I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in Colorado. I am also EMDR-trained. My approach is collaborative, experiential, somatic, and trauma-informed. I primarily utilize parts work, Gestalt, mindfulness, and somatic approaches including EMDR. I also bring in ACT, DBT, and CBT when appropriate. I pay attention not only to what you tell me, but to what happens in your body, emotions, relationships, and patterns of behavior. We may use conversation, movement, metaphor, imagery, parts work, or role-play to explore experiences from a different angle. Rather than simply analyzing why a pattern exists, we'll practice responding to it differently. My goal is to help you develop greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, self-trust, and choice so you can navigate difficult experiences with more agency
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe context matters. The way we respond to the world is shaped by what we have experienced, what we have learned, and what has been asked of us. I think there is value in getting curious about ourselves rather than immediately deciding that something needs to be fixed. Often, compassion gives us a clearer view of what is actually happening than criticism ever could. I value autonomy, honesty, kindness, and playfulness. I believe confidence grows when we learn to trust ourselves, including our ability to ask for help. Responsibility can be scary, but it can also be liberating when we realize we have more choice than we thought. I don't believe we need to be happy all the time or perfectly "healed" to have a good life. Emotions ebb and flow, much like seasons and everything else in nature. I love spending time outdoors, where nature reminds me that change is normal. I value LGBTQIA+ equality, gender equality, gender affirming care, and cultural humility.
