About My Clients
I am deeply committed to supporting individuals who face challenges with anxiety or feelings of hopelessness, those working to heal from difficult childhood experiences, and those who often feel like they’re never 'good enough.' Together, we will explore strategies to help you navigate life’s stresses and build your self-confidence.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC #17624) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (#597028). I earned my undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Kentucky and completed my Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before transitioning into counseling, I worked as a healthcare recruiter, where I was responsible for hiring and managing nurses to care for medically fragile children in their homes. During this time, I had the privilege of engaging deeply with families who had experienced significant trauma. It was incredibly rewarding to help them navigate such challenges by finding the right care and offering compassionate support tailored to their unique needs. This experience shaped my approach to therapy, where I aim to create a space of empathy and understanding for every client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m deeply committed to creating a therapeutic space that moves away from pathologizing language and recognizes the significant impact of systemic oppression, including capitalism and white supremacy culture, on our mental health. I believe healing happens when we prioritize consent, compassion, and curiosity throughout the process. In our work together, I won’t try to “fix” or label your emotions; instead, I’ll create space for them with care, helping you explore what they may be trying to teach you. I’m always learning and unlearning, especially around issues like urgency culture and perfectionism, and I strive to practice in a way that’s intentional, patient, and rooted in self-compassion.
