About My Clients

My clients may be struggling with self-esteem, comparison, perfectionism, people-pleasing, anxiety, resentment, blame or mistrust. Ultimately, the problems have gotten them away from what they really want; fulfilling relationships. I work with couples who want to get back on the same team and stop being hijacked by arguments and defensiveness, and individuals who are navigating dating and relationships and perhaps feeling overwhelmed, confused, and ready to throw in the towel.

My Background and Approach

With a background in theatre and the arts, I bring a creative and empathetic approach to therapy. Like a play or a novel, our lives are composed of stories we tell ourselves about who we are, where we come from, and where we're going. Once we understand your current narratives, we can work together to craft a new, empowering story for your future. In our sessions, I facilitate therapeutic conversations that help you take a close look at what might be standing in the way of having more connected relationships. My approach is non-pathologizing, compassionate and collaborative. I am an Associate Therapist at California Family Institute, and my clients have the benefit of not only my perspective, but also my supervisors who have years of experience in the field. At our center, we are able to do traditional talk therapy as well as reflecting teams with a group of therapists, collaborative family sessions, group sessions, and more. I welcome individuals and couples of all backgrounds.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that problems are just problems—people aren't problems. What if you're not actually with a bad partner, but you both just need different ways of dealing with a bad problem? I believe my clients are the expert of their own experiences, and my job as a therapist is to partner with clients in helping them live within their preferences- not to 'fix' people or tell them what to do. I am interested in creative applications of therapy- I have experience in collaborating with my client's community in order to support their growth and development.
