About My Clients
If you are a parent, you have probably noticed something is off and you are not sure how to reach them. If you are a young adult, you may be in a chapter that looked exciting on paper and feels overwhelming in practice. I work with children, teens, and young adults on anxiety, emotion regulation, school and friendship stress, and figuring out what comes next. My clients do not have to arrive in crisis. Wanting more support than you have right now is reason enough.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, with a master's in school counseling from West Chester University. Before this, I spent seven years in school settings, teaching classroom lessons and working directly with students. That taught me something no textbook does: you cannot make a kid talk. You have to be someone worth talking to. It also means I am not thrown by the teenager who arrives with their arms crossed. In session I draw on CBT, person-centered counseling, and solution-focused work. In practice, that means we look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect, I do not tell you who you should be, and we spend real time on what is already working. Therapy with me is interactive and, honestly, sometimes fun. You are the guide to each session and I am your support person. My job is to send you home with tools that hold up on a Tuesday afternoon when I am nowhere in sight.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are capable of more change than they give themselves credit for. My clients are in charge of their own lives, and my job is to help them see that. I was the first person in my family to graduate college. I went through it without a roadmap, and what got me through was learning to ask for help before I was drowning. That shapes how I practice. You do not have to be in crisis to deserve support, and reaching out early is not weakness. Outside of work I am usually with my family, or reading, or both at once with an audiobook on. I am learning how to balance work, family, and taking care of myself, which is the same thing I ask my clients to work on.
