About My Clients
Populations I enjoy working in include queer/trans/nb folks and individuals ages 12-35. I am passionate about helping clients work through and reprocess trauma, whether that be sexual, medical, physical, emotional, neglect, or another form of trauma. My primary passions include helping clients reprocess trauma and walking with clients on the path to body acceptance and body love without the influence of diet culture through listening to the body and giving it what it needs.
My Background and Approach
I use a variety of strengths-based modalities including EMDR, ACT, intuitive eating, Internal Family Systems, nature therapy, and compassion-focused therapy. Everyone needs a toolbox of coping skills that they know work for them, and figuring that out can be a challenging process. I'm here to help you "try on" a wide variety of coping skills so we can create a robust toolbox of resources that you know work for you that you can draw on whenever you need. I work with each individual client to create a treatment plan using the modalities they most resonate with to meet the goals they want to meet. My priority is to create a space free of shame and stigma where I can listen without judgment and partner with clients to explore identity, process trauma, and develop a deep love for the self- exactly as it is. You already have all of the strength, resiliency, and peace within you- I am here to offer you a compassionate hand as you learn to use them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a values-driven provider, I lean heavily on my personal values, which include compassion, curiosity, authenticity, growth, humor, and equity. These values are pillars of my practice and my life. In my life I have struggled with depression, anxiety, panic, and PTSD. Through my own therapy, I have used EMDR to reprocess my trauma and develop a toolbox full of coping skills tailored to my needs. After having almost daily panic attacks for 7 years of my life, I now rarely feel panic and when I do, I have all the resources I need to cope. It is my hope that you are able to achieve this same level of peace in your life. I believe in the connection between humans, animals, and nature and often draw on these things in my practice. In our world today, I believe it is imperative that I use my privilege as a cisgender white woman to lift up the voices of those who have been silenced, and I do my best to do this through marches, advocacy, and education.
