About My Clients
I work with those experiencing anxiety, depression, major life changes, stress, disability/chronic illness, grief and loss, or work issues, as well as those wanting to build self-confidence, trust in themselves, quiet their inner critic, or gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Whatever it is that may have brought you here today, I would be honored to have the opportunity to understand your experience so you feel seen and supported along the way.
My Background and Approach
Becoming a counselor has been deeply influenced by my personal experiences with loss and my drive for self-growth. I have experienced my own journeys with grief, anxiety, and the challenges of finding balance and direction in life. I bring passion to my work, as I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound change and healing it can bring. When we work together, you can expect a warm, down-to-earth presence that offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to deeply reflect and explore your thoughts, feelings, and stories. I value humor, both in life and in work, so you can expect a little of that as well. I use a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. I also incorporate psychodynamic, somatic, and mindfulness approaches into my work. Much of our work will focus on your strengths, highlighting the skills and resiliency you’ve naturally developed over the years, all while supporting you in developing new ways of coping if old patterns are no longer working.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I truly believe in the resilience we all carry within us, even when it’s hard to find at times. We are all doing the best we can with the tools we currently have and how we have learned to cope. I don't have the answers to how you should live your life, I strongly believe that we are all intuitively wise and that you ultimately know what will be best for you. Life can be busy and distracting, making it feel rare to have dedicated time to focus on our needs, which can leave us feeling overwhelmed, unclear, or stuck. Sometimes it just takes really slowing down, tapping into our "true selves" and doing a bit of digging and reflection to clarify or make sense of things. Together we will build tools to help you move toward the healing and growth you want to see, even if that simply means growing more comfortable with the uncomfortable.
