About My Clients
Perhaps you have been let down, hurt, or disrespected. Many of us go through periods of anxiety, depression, or uncertainty. Children may experience separation, loss, big emotions and hurt, and been challenged to cope. I provide therapy to adults and children ages 3-12 and their caregivers. I specialize in working with women and children with trauma histories.
My Background and Approach
I am grounded in social work values of social justice, dignity and worth of the individual, and the importance of human relationship. Mental health does not take place in a vacuum but in a relational and social environment. We come by our wounds honestly and do the best we can. Therapeutic approaches I use include CBT, EMDR, Jungian, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Play Therapy. Play is a symbolic language and natural medium of expression. Through play therapy, children can process their experiences, express their feelings, wishes, and needs, and communicate their perceptions of themselves, others, and the world. Caregiver involvement is essential to child treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that physical and mental healthcare is a basic human right. I became a vegan while pursuing a bachelors degree. I believe in recovery and have walked my own path. I have lived experience with autoimmune conditions.
