About My Clients
I am uniquely suited to provide tailored treatment to individuals who struggle with a combination of trauma and OCD. While I utilize evidence based treatment modalities for these conditions (EMDR/ERP), I operate as a trauma focused clinician. I bring systems factors into the therapeutic process in order to contextualize client symptoms. I work with clients to reduce internalized shame and to restore a sense of autonomy through centering consent. I promise to do what all good therapists strive to
My Background and Approach
I operate broadly from a Humanistic lens (more specifically Intersectional Feminist/Existential) and specifically employ modalities including ERP, EMDR, ACT, and DBT. I have spent nearly a decade working in a variety of settings including community mental health, Tribal clinics, sliding scale clinics, private practice, and specialized treatment settings. I believe that therapy is an art and should be treated as a sacred space where you can do the hard work to heal things that you may not understand right now. My role is to be a trusted safe person where you can explore wounds and patterns without judgement. Although I will challenge you and provide guidance or alternate perspectives when you need it, I promise to always prioritize your consent and your goals while reducing shame. Healing is a commitment and it takes work, but magic happens when you and I both show up to the therapeutic space fully committed to your healing and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I deeply believe that living your values and pursuing a meaningful life is much more empowering than trying to eliminate experiences inherent to the human condition such as sadness or distress. I choose to operate a small private-pay practice. In a mental health landscape rampant with therapist burnout where our clients are treated as numbers for metrics and utilization, I have chosen a less traveled path where our time together is sacred and you are not a number. This allows me to care for myself as the therapeutic tool I bring to the room in order to give you my deepest clinical presence while protecting against the common challenge clients face of high therapist turnover and transition. Focusing on the stability and quality of our therapeutic alliance without quotas or utilization metrics. That being said, I believe a good therapist is always working themselves out of a job and so from our first session we will identify what readiness to transition out of therapy looks like.
