I will walk alongside you in your journey of empowerment, self-discovery & healing.
My Background and Approach
It is essential to honor each person’s uniqueness and individuality and therapy I will tailor your experience to meet your unique needs and goals. My personal approach to counseling emphasizes the importance of utilizing a holistic approach that integrates mind, body, and spirit, as well as addressing the interconnectedness of the person with their environment. As you work to change, it is not only important to release old beliefs, values, and behaviors , it is equally important to explore and embrace a new a new value system and ways of thinking and behaving, to step into a new way of living and being. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is characterized by the sacred nature of the relationship, the power of mutual empathy, and the belief that change and healing can occur as a result of the quality of presence, sense of safety, and connection that the therapist provides.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Brené Brown defines connection as “the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship." I believe in the interconnectedness of all human beings with each other and their environment; the existence of the spirit or soul, the small still voice within, the inner healer, and that creativity is the outward expression of the spirit; that human connection is essential for mental, physical, and spiritual health to flourish; that liberation from suffering is possible and that it requires an open heart and mind and a willingness to experience the pain that leads to healing. Every person is sacred and deserves the opportunity to maximize their physical, mental, and spiritual health and wellbeing.
