About My Clients
I believe therapy is a collaborative process where the client and I create a strong therapeutic relationship based on empathy, trust, and support. I enjoy working with a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity formation, eating disorders, and phase of life transitions.
My Background and Approach
I mainly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I also draw from other theories to tailor an approach that will best help each individual client. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Existential Therapy. Clients are the experts in their lives; therefore, my goal is to work with the client in developing new skills, establishing realistic and specific goals, and fostering healthy relationships with self and others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I foster a safe environment where clients can expect to feel accepted and supported during the counseling process. Some specific exercises I utilize are challenging and reframing thoughts, replacing behaviors, and learning self compassion. In addition to these, I assist clients with naming their values and strengths. My ultimate goal of each session is for the client to be able to incorporate new patterns and actions into their everyday life!
