About My Clients
I believe it is an honor and a calling to be in the helping profession. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings in St Louis, Missouri. I believe everyone should have access to counseling. My experience is in working in hospitals, group practice and private practice. I work with adults on a wide range of issues which include--anxiety, depression, chemical dependency, adjusting to parenthood, difficulty coping with stress.
My Background and Approach
My prior experience is in working with adults and older adults experiencing anxiety & depression, issues of aging and coping with life transitions. It is my belief that talking to someone objective can be very helpful. We start to heal the moment we feel heard. Life can be challenging and having a therapist who can be compassionate and calm is helpful while navigating life events. I help clients to discover their own inner strengths so they can thrive in their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has a unique life story along with personal strengths. I feel it is an honor to work with people in their time of need. I am a member and supporter of NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness). I believe individuals who have mental illness need support as well as their families. I work actively to combat the stigma associated with having a mental illness and seeking treatment. People are not their diagnosis and ALL individuals deserve respect and equal treatment. I have volunteer experience in the fields of education, working with older adults, in hospice facilities and in a crisis nursery. I strongly believe in the connection between emotional, physical and spiritual health. I am a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) & a proponent of the practices of yoga, meditation & breathing exercises in helping with emotional symptoms.
