About My Clients
I provide treatment to adolescents (ages 17+) and adults. I have extensive clinical experience and training with a specialty in the treatment of eating disorders. My scope of practice also includes adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, body image issues, self-destructive behaviors, transitions, relationship problems, and other generalized psychological concerns. I have extensive experience working with families with a member struggling with an eating disorder.
My Background and Approach
I am a board certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), an International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) & an iaedp Approved Supervisor (CEDS-S); one of a limited number of professionals nationwide to achieve these distinctions after completing a rigorous set of criteria for the evaluation of education, training, knowledge and experience. Prior to opening my own practice my experience included work as a family and group therapist at The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt Health System and as The Clinical Supervisor at The Renfrew Center Baltimore. I enjoy working with both individuals, families and groups. In my treatment with those struggling with eating disorders, including family members, I balance an empathetic stance with a directive approach, encouraging self-discovery while providing psycho-education. Most importantly I offer hope and truly believe in recovery.
