About My Clients
I will listen to you with an open mind and make sure you feel heard. I will partner with you to collaboratively identify goals important to you. I will share with you skills and life practices that will empower you to confidently face challenges as you evolve into the person you strive to be. I have 20 years of experience working with concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, sexual and gender identity, life changes, grief and loss, relationship and family and parenting stress.
My Background and Approach
I see value in integrating various therapeutic approaches to find what fits and works best for you. These may include breathing techniques, guided imagery, movement, emotional self-regulation skills, family of origin exploration and mindfulness/relaxation/stress reduction skills. Regardless of the techniques, I want to honor where you are and focus on a process that offers understanding and positive change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a feminist. I am part of the LGBTQ community, although I do not label my identity as I believe identity spans a spectrum. I participate in social justice events often. Some examples include: rally to support trans youth, a protest against police violence after the murder of George Floyd, social work lobby day at our state capitol, Women's March, youth-driven anti-gun violence march, etc. I have studied white privilege and continue to read books/participate in educational opportunities and strive to live and work from an anti-racist platform. That being said I recognize my privilege and do not underestimate how this plays out in our society.
